The last couple of weeks.

Time flies when you’re having fun! Now it’s been a few weeks since I wrote here.

So I thought I’d run a little update on what I’ve been up to recently.

Besides working with my posters I have, among other things made a new profile picture. I thought that now that I’ve cut all off my long hair off and got a new much shorter hairstyle it was time for a new profil pic.  So I drew of myself. Literally… ;)

It looked like this:

I’m also working in some new drawings for the restaurant, The BARN here in Gothenburg.

It was recently ranked as the best spirits tavern in Sweden. YAY! You guys are just the best!

So now there will be a lot of focus on drawing new different types of beverages, glasses and bottles which will be framed and displayed in the restaurant in the future. It’s gonna be super fun! :D

For example, last week I drew their own “Skördeöl” (like a farmers beer in swedish).

It looked like this:

Here are some other pics from my daily life. This is what my living room looks like when you just received delivery of hundreds of cardboard tubes and boxes. Cozy right? ;)

It takes a few days to organise that and get everything on its place. Move half of it to the studio and make labels for the tubes, etc. Lucky for me, I like that kind of work :)

I thought that I’d get started with a new print. I have a hundred ideas in my head! It’s almost as if I don’t not know where to start. So I thought I’d warm up a bit first, to get started and began to draw two of my pencils. But then I thought it was so much fun and got carried away completely and ended up drawing these illusion pencils all day long instead.

It looked like this.

That’s the hardest part when you work so creatively. You can’t force an idea. You have to take the opportunity when it feels right and you’ve got the “flow”. For me, anyway.

It’s possible, of course. But the result will be so much better when you get an idea and that “right-on-spot-feeling”. “Yes! this is awesome! This I’ll have to do! Now at once! ”

I say as Carina Berg (A lovely woman, famous from a lot of different swedish TV-programs): “I have a constant chaos in my head, that’s why I have to clean all the time.”

To be able to feel that calm and get that “creative flow” I must “clean” everything around me first (and in my head). Place orders, pack order, ship them away, email, make phone calls, prepare everything that needs to be prepared. Then, I can sit down nice and quietly and just… draw <3 (I want to clarify that I really love everything about my job, every part of it! I’m the luckiest girl in the world! It’s so much fun! But it requires a lot of focus, calm and a different state of mind when in comes to the drawing part. It’s my kind of meditation)

So now I’ve been working at full speed with all my to-do lists. Because next week, I’m going to draw, sketch and paint as much as I can. YAY! :)
